What to Expect During A NeuroStar Treatment Session

You'll recline in a comfortable chair- you can read or watch TV during the treatment.

Focused magnetic pulses will deliver the therapy to the area of your brain that regulates mood. Some people report it feels like a tapping, tingling, or warming sensation at the location of the treatment.

You will remain alert and aware throughout treatment, and you can resume normal activities immediately after.

Your Customized Treatment Plan
Completing the total number of prescribed sessions gives you the best chance for recovery.
NeuroStar treatment starts with a personalized brain mapping (called a "Motor Threshold" or "MT") to ensure you get 100% of the therapy at the right location.

Sessions last as little as 19 minutes*.

There's no sedation, so you can resume normal activities (including driving home) immediately after treatment.

A full course of treatment is typically 36 treatments. Your doctor's specific treatment plan may differ.

*Your doctor will determine how many sessions and how long those sessions are based on your needs.
Completion Is Key
Similar to other treatments like physical therapy or a course of antibiotics, completing the recommended number of sessions gives you the best results and full benefits of the treatment.
In a study of more than 7,000 patients, those who completed a full 36-treatment course reported:

Compared to patients who ended their TMS course with fewer than 30 sessions.
