Two different treatment paths.
Two different ways cost is structured.
One of the most common questions we hear is:
“How much does TMS cost?”
The honest answer is that it depends on the type of treatment—and whether insurance is involved.
At New Chapter TMS, we offer both:
-
Standard (once-daily) TMS, which is often covered by insurance
-
Accelerated TMS, which is typically a cash-pay option
We’ll walk you through both so you can understand what to expect.

Option 1:
Standard TMS (Insurance-Based)
A structured, insurance-aligned approach
Standard TMS is delivered:
-
once per day
-
5 days per week
-
typically over 6–8 weeks
For many patients, this is the most practical option because it often aligns with insurance coverage.
Option 2:
Accelerated TMS (Condensed Schedule)
A shorter treatment timeline, often structured as a bundled cost
Accelerated TMS is delivered in a more concentrated timeframe, rather than spread out over several weeks.
This may include:
-
one-week treatment formats
-
and, in select cases, one-day options
Because of how it is structured, accelerated TMS is often not covered by insurance and is typically offered as a cash-pay option.

What patients typically pay
Out-of-pocket costs vary based on your specific insurance plan, but common scenarios include:
-
Copays per visit (often around $15–$25 per session)
-
$0 copay plans in some cases
-
Deductible-based plans, where patients may pay more upfront
-
Out-of-pocket maximums, which can range from approximately $1,000–$2,000 or more depending on the plan
Some plans treat TMS differently than standard outpatient services, and in some cases it may be partially or fully exempt from the deductible.
What we do differently
We do not expect you to figure this out on your own.
As soon as we receive your insurance information, we complete a full benefits investigation so you know:
-
what is covered
-
what your estimated out-of-pocket cost will be
-
and what to expect before starting treatment
No surprises.
What accelerated TMS costs
Accelerated TMS is usually offered as a bundled treatment rather than per-session billing.
At New Chapter TMS:
-
A one-week accelerated course is approximately $5,000
We will always review this in detail with you before making any decisions.
A key difference: time and trajectory
One of the most important differences between these two options is not just cost—it is timeline.
Standard TMS:
-
gradual improvement over several weeks
Accelerated TMS:
-
a more condensed treatment schedule
-
and for some patients, symptom improvement often begins sooner
Not every patient responds the same way, and faster is not always better.
But for some patients, the possibility of feeling better sooner, combined with a shorter overall schedule, can be an important factor in the decision.
Why some patients consider accelerated TMS
For many patients, the decision is not just about cost.
It is about what is realistically doable.
A standard TMS schedule requires:
-
daily appointments for several weeks
-
consistent availability
-
the ability to maintain that routine over time
Accelerated TMS shifts that commitment into a shorter, more concentrated window.
For patients with demanding schedules, travel, family responsibilities, or limited flexibility, that difference can matter.
A straightforward approach
We believe this should be a clear, honest conversation.
Some patients choose standard TMS because insurance makes it the most practical option.
Others choose accelerated treatment because a shorter timeline fits their life better—even when it is not covered.
Our role is not to push one path.It is to help you understand both—and decide what makes sense for you.
We are Unique
New Chapter TMS is a TMS-only clinic looking to provide clients with treatment that will augment their existing mental health care. We service the greater Spokane area including the Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene. All of our staff members have extensive training in various areas of behavioral healthcare and bring that experience to supporting clients through their course of TMS.

Why Choose New Chapter TMS
Dr Kiira Tietjen has worked extensively with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with acute and chronic mental illness. She and her husband, Will Normington, have seen how psychiatry treatment can be difficult to access and leave individuals short of their treatment goals. Ultimately this led the ownership duo to leave large healthcare systems in order to provide more personalized support to individuals struggling with mental illness.

“Before TMS, I felt severely depressed and hopeless.
After treatment, my symptoms improved and I could complete daily tasks again.
Even incremental progress made a difference.”

Before TMS, I struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts.
After treatment, my mood improved and those thoughts decreased. I developed a more positive outlook on life.
It was worth it.

After years of medication changes and struggling with suicidal thoughts, I was skeptical anything new would help.
Within just a few treatments, my sleep improved dramatically and over time the darkness lifted.
TMS created lasting change in my life.
